Roof underlayment was installed during initial inspection to prevent rain water from leaking in where missing shingles were blown off during severe thunderstorm. Furring strips are installed at 3 ft spacing, nails with 3 in (12P) ring shank nails at the rafters (24 in spacing o.c.). This provides air gap for extra insulation, as well as, a solid dense lumber for the large panels to be fastened to instead thru the shingles to the roof decking (OSB), which doesn't hold as well. During another strong wind storm, the right gust of wind can rip theses wind sails right off with screws in the OSB decking. Screwed to solid pine, ring shank nailed to soled 2x8 rafters stand much greater wind resistance. Almost double.

This home office was created from an outbuilding on the property. Seagrass wall-to-wall carpet was installed for ultimate durability and a relaxed vibe. We employed a high-low aesthetic to create a space that was unique but still within budget, utilizing the owner's Stickley desk, a custom desk chair, custom blush Roman shades, a Hudson Valley Fenwater chandelier and sconces, and multiple office items from budget sources like IKEA and The Container Store. The ceiling is painted Quicksand and walls and trim in White Dove by Benjamin Moore. Photo by Sabrina Cole Quinn Photography.

The master bath of this home had a huge transformation. It originally had a small, single vanity, a tub, and linen closet. All of that made for a choppy closed off space. We ripped everything out and opened it up. The accent tile on the shower head wall was a result of running short of marble, so I created an accent wall to stay within our project timeframe.

Ripping out the old, dated tub made room for a walk-in shower that will remain practical as the client gets older. The back splash wall tile provides a stunning focal point as you enter the Master Bath. Keeping finishes light and neutral helps this small room to feel more spacious and open.

Yes, this is our little Gerken! “As a homeowner in SW Minneapolis, I completely understand being afraid of getting ripped off, lied to, or taken advantage of because ‘HVAC‘* is overwhelming because I felt the same way.” – John, owner
I believed there should be a heating and cooling service company I could trust. A company that really did care about giving me what was best for my family. A company that would do everything humanly possible in providing outstanding service for me.
So my wife and I created a heating & cooling company to provide honest, trustworthy service, the way we would want to be treated.

This outdoor living addition was built with an original-to-the-home look including matching shingles, paint, and brick. The tongue and groove wood ceiling and stamped concrete enhance the feel of this outdoor project. Ceiling fans create a sweet breeze throughout this patio, and the recessed lighting allows for an enjoyable evening outdoors. Flood lights were also placed on the exterior of the patio to increase nighttime visibility and security.
