Small bathroom spaces without windows can present a design challenge. Our solution included selecting a beautiful aspen tree wall mural that makes it feel as if you are looking out a window. To keep things light and airy we created a custom natural cedar floating vanity, gold fixtures, and a light green tiled feature wall in the shower.

The combination of White Carrera Marble, Brushed Nickel Finishes and "Cabbage" Farrow & Ball paint lends a modern yet timeless sentiment to this lovely room.

With no windows or natural light, we used a combination of artificial light, open space, and white walls to brighten this master bath remodel. Over the white, we layered a sophisticated palette of finishes that embrace color, pattern, and texture: 1) long hex accent tile in “lemongrass” gold from Walker Zanger (mounted vertically for a new take on mid-century aesthetics); 2) large format slate gray floor tile to ground the room; 3) textured 2X10 glossy white shower field tile (can’t resist touching it); 4) rich walnut wraps with heavy graining to define task areas; and 5) dirty blue accessories to provide contrast and interest.

this bathroom was crafted out of windowless storage in the attic. To create a bit of visual interest we played with a shape of homeowner's favorite flower. (installers "loved" it :))

The hall leading to the master bath was outfitted with a custom floating, flat panel walnut cabinet. Extra deep drawers provide storage for large bulky items (comforters) while shelving above provides quick access to everyday items (towels).

We transformed this dark and dingy small bathroom into a bright and modern design with more walking space!
What we love about this bathroom project is how the shower seamlessly expanded 50% in size without taking away any space from the rest of the layout. One of the pinpoints for the project was how dark the space was, so we used brighter materials to counteract the windowless room.

This grand, yet tranquil, mural was influenced by the Hudson River School. Painted in oil, in a 5’ x 9’ windowless bathroom, this sweeping landscape visually pushes out the walls and makes a small, confining space into a more open and inviting place. The oil paints and glazes make the decorative painting impervious to moisture. Photo by Hope Angier.

This 5 bedrooms, 3.4 baths, 3,359 sq. ft. Contemporary home with stunning floor-to-ceiling glass throughout, wows with abundant natural light. The open concept is built for entertaining, and the counter-to-ceiling kitchen backsplashes provide a multi-textured visual effect that works playfully with the monolithic linear fireplace. The spa-like master bath also intrigues with a 3-dimensional tile and free standing tub. Photos by Etherdox Photography.
