Design-Build Contractors & Firms Near Wimberley

“Bathroom remodel, included moving and installing a new window and removing an interior wall. Shay and his team were in lock step with us at every stage. Helping us design and providing guidance throughout the entire project. Their contractors were professional and courteous and cleaned up after they finished for the day and their workmanship was outstanding. They truly cared about the work they were doing. The schedule was right as they quoted as was the budget. The communication about the whole process was clear and frequent. Highly recommend them!”

“Since people's expectations vary wildly, this review is written as objectively as possible. This project with Jorden was my first ever kitchen remodel and I relied heavily on them for advice, guidance, and recommendations. In this regard, they did not disappoint. Sales, project manager, decorator are all very experienced and eager to help achieve the best results. I chose Jorden because of their professionalism during the bidding process. The sub-contractors Jorden uses are very qualified. As testimony, I would not hesitate to use or recommend any of them independently for other projects. With few exceptions, the carpenters, painters, electricians, tile, countertops, plumbers and other specialists arrived on the dates and times planned and expected. Hats off to Jorden for choosing well-qualified, responsible specialists. Even the best-laid plans can change. After the kitchen demolition, I noticed several areas that warranted cabinet design changes. The Jorden project manager quickly came out to meet and discuss the ideas, and sales had the cost effect to me quickly. Once I approved the changes, overall project timing impact was minimal and explained to my satisfaction. The unexpected happens. I learned a LOT from the project and wish I knew then what I know now. With a remodel, unlike a new construction, the owners' availability to be at the residence plays a huge role in timing. Short notice visits by workers is very common, so the ability to be at home during work hours is important. And rescheduling visits happens as well. The new kitchen sink, for example, fractured during shipping, which caused a one-week delay for the countertop installation. Also, the cabinet staining took longer than expected due to matching old vs new wood combinations. We had to experiment with several different stain formulations before finding a good match. Expect things to go wrong and make the best of it. Jorden will finish the race but there will be unforeseen obstacles. Jorden is a young company with a lot of ambition. I can see that they are a better team as a result of my project, and future customers will benefit from that. They are honing their craft and are making significant improvements. I feel that Jorden really wants to be the best at what they do. In summary, Jorden completed my kitchen remodel project in an excellent manner, and I would definitely use them again. They stood by every promise, every challenge, and did not stop until it was made right to my satisfaction. They never quit. That impressed me the most. Why not 5-stars? No one should be rated so highly that complacency kicks in. They are not perfect. Jorden knows what areas to improve upon, and hopefully that will reflect in your project, if you choose them. Dark countertops were original in photos. New vent housing photo was taken pre-finish, now complete and looks good.”

“Totally recommend Barley | Pfeiffer Architecture! My experience the Barley | Pfeiffer has been exceptional. I have done small remodel projects, but nothing to the extent of my project with Barley | Pfeiffer. The scope of this project was to take a 1960 ranch (2900 sq. ft.) with low roofline, limited light, sub-optimal functionality and efficiency and transform it into a modern, clean lined, open, bright, energy efficient home while taking advantage of my beautifully wooded Tarrytown lot. I found them (Peter Pfeiffer, Alan Barley, Matt Weiger and Vanessa) to be very up front with their communications and expectation setting and offered many creative ideas to enhance the outcome of my project that also include costs and budgeting discussions. They were easy to get in touch with and set up meetings and conference calls around my schedule. As Peter and Alan got to know me through the architectural design process, I asked for a general contractor recommendations and after meeting a few I selected Ray Tonjes – best decision ever! Barley | Pfeiffer stayed involved with the project to the very end frequently checking in and doing walk throughs quickly addressing issues with “the unexpected findings of a 57 yr. old house”. Barley | Pfeiffer excelled at the overall design that fits the lot and neighborhood, creating an energy efficient home (my energy costs have been cut in half), creative problem solving, selection of products and surface coverings both interior and exterior, capitalizing on my lot/house orientation taking advantage of the light and natural air flow, doing things right the first time so I had no “fix it’s or Re-do’s” with the project. I chose their comprehensive level of service which cost a little more up front, however and it paid off before the project was finished. Overall it was a very collaborative process and I appreciate the insight and expertise of Barley | Pfeiffer Architecture. I am exceptionally happy with the results of my home – I love it!”
