Design-Build Contractors & Firms Near Buckner

“I initially reached out to Bryan to inquire about help rebuilding our deck. We had planned to meet a few weeks later, but a rainstorm caused major leaking in our living room. I texted Bryan and he came right over - traveling across town - and brought an employee to assess the situation. They quickly determined the issue was with the roof and even went up to place a tarp to prevent further damage. Bryan also left us with a carpet dryer and walked us through how to remove the damaged carpet and padding so the subfloor could dry properly. During that process, we discovered there was significant long-term damage to the subfloor. At that point, we decided to shift priorities and move forward with remodeling the first floor instead of rebuilding the deck. Throughout the project, Bryan and his team were attentive and helpful. They addressed wet exterior siding and insulation, helped us select new flooring, and provided input on our fireplace tile choices. They were also very flexible and supportive of the fact that we wanted to complete some portions of the remodel ourselves while they handled the rest. While we were away, they removed all the old flooring in our home and discovered an additional area of subfloor damage on the other side of the house, which they repaired. They also identified water damage around our doors and told us they needed to be replaced before they could finish the flooring installation. Since we were not physically present, Bryan helped us source doors that fit our needs. When we returned home, there were a couple of issues we noticed, including a section of grout that had cracked and a register cover that did not fit into the new flooring properly. Bryan has already committed to coming out to fix those items. Bryan works with specialized contractors for different aspects of the job. One highlight was the stucco work on our replacement siding. We live in a townhouse, so matching color and texture was critical, and the stucco contractor did an absolutely perfect job. That was really impressive. One thing to note is that the price for specialized subcontractors is higher when going through Bryan, as there is a percentage added to the rate. We would have paid less by hiring certain specialists directly. However, Bryan did ensure that the people working on our project were among the best in their specialty area. Their overall pricing is on the higher side, and the project moved more slowly after the initial emergency, likely because our job was small compared to some of their other projects. That said, this really felt like a “you get what you pay for” situation. Since this is our home, we were comfortable paying a bit more for the peace of mind that the work was done properly. When we had an emergency, Bryan and his team responded immediately, and we truly appreciated that level of urgency. Overall, Bryan delivers quality work, has a reliable network of specialists, and is very responsive in urgent situations.”

“We recently completed a major remodel of our historic home with Stumpff Homeworks, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we began the process to the final walk-through, they exceeded every expectation. The project included expanding our kitchen and turning a bedroom into a stunning primary suite with a luxurious bathroom. Despite the challenges of working with a house over 100 years old, the team delivered seamless results that blend perfectly with the home’s original character. The quality of the craftsmanship speaks for itself. Friends and family constantly rave about the transformation. The Stumpff team matched the existing trim and details so beautifully that you’d never guess where the old ends and the new begins—it’s simply breathtaking. What else sets this company apart is Tom’s integrity and high standards. Every step of the process felt thoughtful and intentional, starting with the design and bidding phase. Thanks to his meticulous planning, there were no unexpected surprises or cost overruns—a rarity in home renovations! Throughout the project, Tom and his team frequently went above and beyond to ensure every detail aligned with my dream while staying within budget. A special shoutout goes to Jennifer and Tony. Jennifer, the design assistant, whose creativity and dedication truly brought my vision to life. Tony personally checked in regularly, ensuring that subcontractors met his exacting standards and that the house was left clean and tidy each day. Their attention to detail and passion for the project were unmatched. And the final test was hosting family for Thanksgiving and it was everything we hoped it would be…the perfect marriage between beauty and function. I cannot recommend Stumpff Homeworks enough. Their expertise, care, and commitment to excellence are second to none.”

“We initially met with Anthony & designer Kennedy to create a new primary bath, closet, bedroom (within an existing space) and to modify a basement room into a bedroom. We really enjoyed working with Kennedy during the design process—she had great options for the primary suite floor plan design and was also very helpful suggesting details like wall sconces, mirrors, and cabinet pull options that worked nicely with the design. The entire KCBR team was professional and respectful in our house. They communicated who would be back the next day and they were always very kind to our dog. There were minimal subcontractors. Things will go wrong during a remodel, many of these issues were outside of KCBR’s control but the issues did delay our project and there was some time where work wasn’t being completed due to this. There were several delays with cabinets (cabinets arrived broken multiple times, wrong cabinet doors, 2 of 3 sets of cabinet doors lost in shipping—bigger delays due to the cabinet company be closed frequently and extended periods of time during holidays). Travis worked with us during these issues and we appreciated he wanted us to be happy with the end result. We used a Chevron tile in the shower, Leo is incredibly talented and exceeded our expectations with tiling. He also fixed broken tiles & placed quartz around the shower niche after issues with the quartz installers attempting to miter the corners & slope properly. We were happy KCBR worked with us on this as we were particular with the design as a whole and did not want to pick a different material for the niche. Gabe was particular with trim work and cabinet install, we appreciated his attention to detail. Although the job took longer, it was worth it in the end. The space functions so much better and has improved our daily life.”
