“It's been several years since Ferdi and Eden finished our project. We actually ended up contacting Ferdi because we saw a house he had done several years prior in the neighborhood and was able to get his contact info from the seller's agent. From 2018 to 2021, we did multiple, large projects on our property turning a mostly unusable .2ac hillside lot into several flat areas for us to use as a family. Ferdi was always able to turn our ideas/ambitions into reality and bring his own design sense to our project. The results are the highlight of our time in this house. Ferdi and Eden are still a phone call away to address any issues or send some guys over to help re-stain a deck or install new drainage. We feel fortunate to have finished a project with a contractor and be able to call them friends, as that's not always the case in this business :).”

“We worked with the team on a full redesign of our front and side gardens. It entailed taking a sloping dirt lot and some stonework out and restructuring the slope into terraces. We started with an idea of a rock wall — we have three across the garden that were hand built by their mason. Additionally, Mariposa put in a rock-walled raised bed for lettuces and other vegetables. There are areas within the garden — butterfly garden, song bird sanctuary, pollinators — along with fruit trees. We weren’t expecting but are happy with the the “edible mess” of our front yard. Most of the plants can be eaten or used by us. It will need a bit of maintaining as seasonal plants like lettuces or chard go off, but we love the stone work and the overall feel of the garden. Be clear in what you want and expect (there was a point I was told “we kind of do what we want”) so if you DO or DON’T want a plant, speak up. Also, if your house is old, you may encounter problems with sewage, electrical, or water lines. Mariposa encountered all three (I think); not unusual, but you will have to update your lines as necessary to bring them to code. That’s not the gardener’s issue, it’s an old house issue that any major landscaping is likely to encounter.”
