This two story home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, built in 1911 needed a full gut and restoration/remodel. Preservation of key pieces like the original wood floor, pocket doors, fire place, built in hutch, staircase and the re-coating and re-purpose of the claw foot tub were center to the design. Modern bathrooms and kitchen were next on the clients request list.

Near Downtown Denver, this hayloft above a carriage house, now garage, was an underutilized storage space. Our client wanted to turn it into an office for her at home business. On a fairly tight budget we were able to clean it up. In the process we discovered the beautiful framing of the roof structure that we decided to highlight. The whole team was thrilled with the result.

Basement Retreat Designed for Family Fun & Flexible Living: This full basement renovation was designed with one clear goal: create a space where multiple generations could gather, relax, play, and even stay comfortably for extended visits. The result is a thoughtfully zoned lower level that balances entertainment, privacy, and everyday functionality. At the heart of the space is a custom feature wall with integrated fireplace and built-in cabinetry, creating a warm focal point for movie nights and casual family time. Clean-lined millwork and natural wood paneling add warmth and architectural interest while maintaining a modern, cohesive aesthetic. A dedicated recreation zone anchors the center of the basement, complete with a full-size game table and ample circulation space. The adjacent kitchenette and beverage station — featuring custom cabinetry, wood countertops, and a beverage refrigerator — makes hosting effortless without trips upstairs. The bathroom combines playful personality with refined finishes. A statement tile backsplash, warm brass fixtures, and a custom vanity bring both function and charm, while the spacious walk-in shower offers durability for frequent use. A private bedroom retreat provides comfortable accommodations for guests or extended family members, ensuring the lower level functions as more than just an entertainment space. Nearby, the laundry area was refreshed with added storage and countertop workspace to support daily life with ease. Throughout the renovation, durable flooring, layered lighting, and cohesive finishes tie the entire level together. Every zone was intentionally designed to support togetherness while still allowing room for privacy and flexibility. At Hillview Custom Renovations, we believe a basement should feel like an extension of the home — not an afterthought. This project reflects how thoughtful planning and craftsmanship can transform underutilized square footage into a vibrant, multi-generational hub built for memory-making.
