This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios. Our Custom Sandblasted faux wood mantel was the perfect finishing touch when American Dream Builders redid this Spanish-style living room with gorgeous hand-painted tile.

This warm, comfortable family room makes its statement with shades of grey, warm tan and taupe. Still in line with the rest of the main level this area is designed with an new set of elements that defines it as its own space. Custom shirred tab-top drapery panels with are mixed with coordinating cornices to compliment the architecture of the lovely home. The beautiful fireplace with raised hearth and molding is the centerpiece of this space. Gorgeous mercury glass lamps, custom pillows, and a mix of fabric, leather and wood create the warmth and balance in the area of the home.
