This is a very difficult question to answer, as prices for labor, materials, site conditions, options and amenities, landscaping, decking, fencing, etc. can all affect the price. This project was around $190,000 in the Chicagoland market.

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. The swimming pool finish is a custom-blended exposed aggregate finish that we have mixed locally. The color is called Custom Blue. The aggregate size is similar to Diamond Brite from Southern Grouts and Mortars.

Is that a sun shelf? - We have a pool, and have a sun shelf. Our pool is six years old, and every year we have issues with leaking. It is our assumption that our pool installer had no business building a sun shelf. What materials were used?

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. Sun shelves are typically built on the existing earth whenever possible, providing the best base for a structure. Whenever the earth is substandard, we will typically frame the area with plywood, install our steel, fill with compacted stone, and then install Shotcrete for the shelf commensurate with the installation of the pool structure. Obviously it would be impossible to diagnose the source of your leak based simply on conjecture, but the steel in sun shelves is crucial, as well as utilizing proper Shotcrete techniques for maximum strength and durability. As far as finding the source of your leak, you can actually do some initial testing on your own by performing a hydrostatic test. Fill the pool 1/2 way up the tile border, then mark the water line in a few places on the tile with a pencil. Return in 24 hours to see where the water line is. Repeat for a few days to see if the leak continues to drop the water level in the pool or if it stops. This will help you determine whether the leak is in the tile line, skimmers, or around the bond beam somewhere. The most common leak that is found inside inground pools is the hydrostatic relief valve, so that would be a logical source of the leak. The best approach would be to hire a professional to do a series of graduated tests to ascertain the source of the leak.

Small trees or bushes? - I like the look of the small trees in front of the white gate. Will they eventually get as big as the ones behind them? Or can you keep them that small? What are they?

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. These trees are Green Mountain Box Woods. They will achieve a height of around 5'0" and a width of 3'0", but are very easy to trim to keep at a desired height if necessary.
