Design is definitely like a box of chocolates, we never know what our next project is going to bring, but we were delighted to work on this extensive remodel with a client that is also an amazing designer! This was a complex remodel as you can see in these plans, where we moved the kitchen to the back of the home creating a much-needed addition. We also moved the dining room + fireplace, expanded the living room, removed a pool/ patio and added a beautiful sprawling deck. So may ideas were percolating when we began this project as designer Michael Martin and his partner had already begun selecting materials and curating modern furniture and art. We enjoyed the process of helping to refine architectural details, create final plans and elevations, help weigh different material options and work as a liaison between the team which made for a most beautiful outcome. Our clients were thrilled with the balance of cool gray tones and warm wood elements yielding the warmth of classic mid-century modern style and a bit of panache with colorful and expressive large format art pieces.
