Greenwich Wine Cellar

The design brief was to take an existing underground root cellar on a Greenwich estate and create a unique wine cellar looking as though it was 200 years old. We recommended using our stash of antique Butternut wood to enhance the effect. It is the sister wood to Black Walnut sometimes being called White Walnut. It is unique as the cambium layer of the tree encourages wood boring beetles which give it its unique worm holes that don't really apperar in Black Walnut
