In-Suite Bath, Silver Spring, MD

The owner of this post-WWII brick rambler was embarking on a new phase of her life, and wished to reflect the transition by updating her Silver Spring, Maryland home. With grown children out of the house, she was particularly excited to expand her personal space in the form of a master suite, complete with a private bath and plenty of daylight. Throughout the project, we found creative ways to fulfill her wish list, despite a fairly limited budget.

Several areas of the bath were designed with accessibility in mind. This stylish floating vessel sink allows for easy wheelchair access, while towel and grab bars rest within convenient reach of both the sink and shower stall.

We chose to install budget-friendly, easy to clean Formica laminate counters around the sink and on the side of the 4-drawer alder cabinet. The Formica repels water between the two areas and also provides a clean transition between counter heights.
