The Last Dollar Ranch near Telluride, Colorado was a design build project in a modern rustic style by custom home builder, Artisan Builders LLC. The simple form of this timber frame was constructed hand hewn beams of reclaimed elm and ash. There is an impressive amount reclaimed wood throughout the entire home that is accented with many steel details, stone and glass. The interior mountain modern design includes a cantilevered 28' I beam hanging from one end with a 1" steel rod that supports a 350 sqft loft above the kitchen and dinning area, letting this area to feel cozy while the living room is open to allow a dynamic understanding of the custom timber frame above and incredible mountain views that abound.
