Mentele Residence

This outdated early 2000 Home went through an entire Main Floor Remodel that now allows the homeowners to use all their square footage instead of half of it, like they did before. Like many homes built during this time period, there was a formal front living room area and formal dining area that the homeowners never used and it was useless space cut off from the kitchen and the rest of the family room/living space. We knocked down a large dividing wall and relocated the back side of the the main kitchen wall space into the center of the home. This allowed for an oversized hidden walk-in pantry every homeowner dreams of. The hidden pantry spans the entire length of the kitchen "behind the kitchen". This allows all countertop clutter to reside in the pantry instead of use up valuable countertop space. The walk-in pantry also houses the microwave and beverage fridge to keep a clean open main kitchen area. The previously unused awkward bay window "formal dining area space" is now the new home for a custom bench and custom table for the homeowners to enjoy as a breakfast nook area. This area is designed to be comfy and cozy. Shiplap covers the walls at this location and 3 overhead arm sconces were installed to achieve the cozy welcoming feel. In the family room area we removed some outdated columns and arches that house closed off the area to the rest of the house and reused the existing fireplace unit and relocated into a more sleek design with vertical stacked stone and floating shelves on the side. This home feels like an all new home!
