Hi, I was the photo-stylist for this property and this is a paint from Farrow and Ball - I believe it is either Pointing (2003). However, please be aware when trying to match colours to things you have seen in magazines and on the internet. The colour of the actual paint will differ according to number of coats of paint applied to the surface and if undercoat was used. Other colours in the room will reflect in a pale colour and the light conditions in the room will also affect the tone. Colours can change again when printed and will view differently on individual monitors depending how they are calibrated. The only sure fire way to get the colour you want is to get some samples from a good paint company - can highly recommend Little Browne - and Farrow and Ball whose paints have a high pigment. Apply a small amount to the surface and wait for it to dry. Try it on different walls in the room because it will look different depending on the way the light falls. Jan Cadle

Lower the level. You may feel deprived of sunlight, but harsh lighting is never a good idea. Instead, indulge in the ultimate in low-level illumination — candlelight. The more candles you use, the more impressive the effect. Lanterns add to the romance of the setting and are the safest option if you’re putting candles on the floor.
