To get the distressed worn look, I have seen people paint the door first in varying shades of color. In this case, 2 shades of beige, but not fully, just enough to add color in varying places.
Then you can rent an electric hand sander at your local home improvement store and get varying degrees of sandpaper (grit levels.) Then sand off varying levels of paint to get the look.
