1. Let the sun’s rays dry your wash. Even if you don’t typically use an outdoor clothesline, it could be worth taking advantage of the fierce summer sun to dry some of your laundry. You’ll save money and energy by skipping the dryer. Just remember that the sun is a powerful bleaching agent — in other words, outdoor line-drying is fabulous for white garments and linens but not so great for dark colors.
