I think the grout is called winter grey. We had to match the existing grout. The brick was original and went to the ceiling, but there was a big hole from an old wood stove. We used the top bricks including the curved bricks at the edges to fill the hole and then topped with a steel shelf.

The top of the island is Imperial Danby marble sourced from Vermont. The island frame is steel, designed by me and fabricated by Newport Forge and Welding in Newport, RI. The oak shelves were put in by the carpenter, Ed Lacross.

For one thing, the owners had to move the kitchen from a sun porch back to its original location. Is the island a stock item somewhere or did you have it custom built?
The island was custom built by 3 different trades: the stone fabricator, metalworker and carpenter.
