The beams you see are actually about 15" tall, so you only see about the bottom 3". That leaves about 12" for insulation - allowing the code required R-49 insulation. This keeps the occupant nice and cozy in the winter months.

My client spent many years collecting antique ship hardware, so the lantern light fixture is a one-of-a kind fixture that was refurbished for use as a light. Unfortunately it is not commercially available.

The total square footage is around 2200-2300 sq.ft. It has 3 Bedrooms and 2 1/2 bath. Since is was a custom home design and for privacy of the client we didn't post a floor plan for review. We are always happy to work with you directly to create your dream home.

My suggestion would be to make sure the sail is taught. This could be difficult to do if some of your anchor points are trees - which will bend and allow slack in the lines that hold the sail. I don't have much experience with sails - perhaps a local vendor or professional could give you more advice?
