Curious about what Tommya33 asked -- How were the walls prepared for the whitewash? I have pine paneling that has a varnish over it...do I have to sand them first?

Pine would absorb paint well, especially one that is thinned for a "white wash". If your wood has been varnished, it is sealed and wouldn't absorb this. The varnish would have to be sanded off. If it is a darker color, you might try a light wood stain over it. I would test a small area first. I have seen a dark stained ceiling (outside), stained over with a light gray stain and it looked light and wonderful!

I love this space with the soothing wall color. I am wondering what is the treatment that was used on the floor please?
