I saw this kitchen in a magazine. They used white carrara marble and black granite. Kitchen was designed by Kevin Spearman with Bellacasa Design Associates in Houston. They do beautiful work! It can also be created using Nero Marquina Marble Tile instead of black granite. It keeps the stones both marble and you get a little veining in the back marble to create a some life.
