Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design. I used flat finish for the grey stripes, and I used satin on the black stripes. The alternating finishes create a nice effect.

Thanks, Sean Michael Design!
I'm trying to replicate this wallpaper, and the colors you used will work perfect for it.

Where is the mirror from? - That mirror is simply gorgeous and I'm sure it costs far too much but I would still like to know where you bought it and for how much please? The house is absolutely beautiful!!

Belicia's Cupcake Co.
I want to say that Restoration Hardware made it years ago, with RH you have to buy it if you see it. They don't always have the same furniture or decor as years go on. I did see one a couple days ago that I have been eye balling at a antique shop in downtown Redlands, Ca. If you go to restoration Hardware website I am sure you will find something that interest you!

Kind Regards,

I wish i could help you! I purchased this for a client at a thrift shop. Of all places! It's from the 80's, and it's fiberglass.

You could try looking on ebay.com or claytongrayhome.com for a similar style.

Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design. I don't see why you can't do a grey and black wall color with a dark brown floor, as long as the grain in your wood isn't overly busy to draw attention away from the stripes. Dark brown, grey and black are all neutrals in my opinion...and they all work together (I do grey walls with dark brown floors quite often). Just ask yourself a few questions: Would this work and make sense with the rest of your home's colors? Your final product will be dark and moody...is that the look you're hoping to achieve? Are you going to keep it fresh by using some lighter furniture in the space (as opposed to dark furniture on dark floors and dark walls)? Good luck, and I hope I helped.

Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design. The stools you see in this foyer are vintage, solid brass stools. I'm unsure of the maker.

Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design! The ceiling was painted in Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage paint. Good luck!

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Julia Pockett added this to Regency Style Shows Interiors a Grand Time
A more restrained but very popular style in this era was the regency stripe. It's often found in reds, golds and greens, but here it's used to stunning effect in a very contemporary black.
