The homeowners here needed an update. Even though the house was built in 1917, the kitchen was added in the early 70s by closing in the back porch area. They wanted a new lighter feel that was clean, elegant and still gave the feeling that it could have still been a porch! We did higher cabinets, new lighting and rustic floors. In the dining room we also removed a large squared off soffit to expose the slant of the roof. We added a rustic beam and a little bead board on the slant to match the ceiling on the front porch.
