Julie Rootes Interiors was chosen to design the powder room for the prestigious 2015 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Originally a small, dark space, we completely transformed this powder room by injecting lots of light and reflective design elements. We crafted a custom decorative niche for the left side to help act as a focal point and open up the space. The luxurious wall treatment is a silk fabric by Jim Thompson was backed and applied as wallpaper. For a sophisticated, glamorous look, we layered four-karat gold and onyx glass tiles in a custom mosaic pattern. The custom gold calacatta marble vanity is by Sherle Wagner and the artwork is by Mill Valley-based artist Eric Zener. Photography by Chris Stark.
