29 - Wooden Wine Cellar Doors with LVL Core

When you walk to this wine cellar, the very first thing you'll notice is the tall glass wine cellar door that's framed by wood. The. glass is thermally-insulated which means that moisture cannot easily develop on the surface, while the wooden frame was custom-made using the LVL technique to ensure durability and longevity. The LVL technique involves binding sheets of wood together using a strong adhesive, and enclosing the bunch in a hardwood shell so they look like one whole slab of wood. It's a very novel technique in wine cellar doors manufacturing, especially that wine cellars require more than just your ordinary house door. Wine cellar doors have to be of exterior-grade and must be able to withstand varying temperatures and humidities.
To add to the insulation capabilities of this innovative door, the team installed an automatic bottom lock system, more informally known as a door guillotine. This lock automatically drops down when the door is closed so cold air wouldn't be able to leave the cellar through air gaps below the door.
Once you enter the cellar, you'll immediately notice the silence that envelopes the entire room. Regular cooling units create a buzz when they're operating, but wine cellar cooling systems like the one installed here are designed to produce very minimal to no noise.
The second thing you'll notice are the almost-regal looking wine racks. They brought it custom-made wooden wine racks made from Alder wood, the same type of wood used for the door. They combined different compartment types from vertical shelves to horizontal shelves, display rows, cork-forward shelves, and diamond bins to create an interesting display. One drawer with sub-closing hinges was built under the decanting countertop to house some of the tools, so everything the owner needs for his wines were in one spot.
They also installed different types of wine cellar lights. The one that stands out the most was the acrylic LED panels which were used as the base of the vertical shelves. The create a special kind of spotlight to the bottles displayed on those shelves. Since light from the base illuminates from the bottom and goes through the bottle, the display looks very majestic, as if they're inside a well-curated wine bar.
