70's Reboot

This project involved a complete update and renovation of a 1970's residence. In addition to the usual modernization of the kitchen and baths, this client enabled us to respect and compliment the inherent architectural qualities of this home with all new interior doors, hardware, moldings, light fixtures, etc. The home was basically stripped down to sheetrock and plywood with all finishes (wall / floor /etc.) to be reconsidered. All the little details that give a house integrity and make it feel unified, comprehensive and whole. We additionally opened up several awkward spaces to enhance the light and living quality of these rooms. Note the dining room with an open corner wine bar which wraps around into the music room. The living room features a floor to ceiling custom library wall that abuts a new fireplace faced in porcelain tile with metallic glazing. The verticality of the design suits the tall ceilings and keeps this small footprint of a room feeling spacious and open.
