A Custom Look for a Custom Build

This was a full interior design project that I completed on a newly constructed home in Kirkwood. I was hired by the builder, Renaissance Living LLC, to help with all of the material selection and design work, both before and during construction.
I picked out all the flooring, countertops, cabinets, lighting, paint, finishes, molding and more.
The overall look is clean and crisp in a transitional design style. And the beauty of the home really shines through in some of the smaller, custom details that are sprinkled throughout the rooms.
From the chevron fireplace and surrounding built ins, to the circle inlay details on the kitchen island, this home has a casual elegance that I’d love to bottle up and repeat with some of my other projects.
The home sold before it was finished and I have a hunch the builder will be getting requests to replicate some of these design elements in future builds!

From the mixed stone backsplash, to the island with circle inlay detailing, to the unique pendant lighting -- this kitchen is a showstopper for sure.

Here is a view looking in from the other side of the kitchen. Notice how I used the same stone tile in a chevron pattern, just as I did on the other side of the island, for continuity.

Subtle veining on the quartz countertop adds some elegance, as does the gold finish on the hardware.

I thought the gold tones on the fixtures and faucets really brought out the warmth of the tile backsplash.

The colors of the mixed stone marry beautifully with the paint on the cabinets and trim (Sherwin William’s Repose Grey, a warm and versatile color).

Shiplap and natural wood. It could be beachy, it could be farmhouse, or it could be casual contemporary. This leaves a lot to the imagination and bends to the whims of the eventual homeowner, which was the goal. But bottom line is it is comforting and beautiful.

Here's a closeup of that chevron pattern for the shiplap above the fireplace. I just adore this look. You can also catch a glimpse of some of the distinctive lighting I used in this project.

The geometric feel of this gold chandelier really highlights the pattern of the coffered ceiling, which was a huge selling point for this home.

I had to show off these walls as well. The batten paneling adds to the custom look and unique charm of the home.

I had a ton of fun picking light fixtures for this house. I love the organic feel of this particular piece.

I carried the same color scheme into this downstairs bathroom, using blue on the vanity as I did with the kitchen island. This gives a crispness to the white stone countertop. And once again, I brought in a touch of gold for warmth.

The light fixture pulls in the gold from the sink faucet, and also ties in with the black framed mirror. Classic, unique and elegant.

The master bath has a similar look as the downstairs bath, but on a much grander scale. The marble tiling is to die for.

The marble tiling blends beautifully with the gold fixtures and the freestanding tub provides a true sense of luxury.
