A San Francisco Victorian Modern

This garden previously had no structure to it except some minor steps and a failing retaining wall. By completely redoing the grade and adding the functional elements to the garden, each tier was defined as a gathering, eating, kitchen or lounging area. Up top a shed was created for storage and raised vegetable beds continue the geometric hardscaping as you move up the space. The bench by the fountain allows for the visitor to be within the plants and near water. The concrete bench and lower steps next to the fire pit also act as extra seating and absorb heat when the fire feature is turned on. Ambient lighting was must and really activates all of the spaces at night. The marble table, chosen by the client, offers a beautiful organic element to offset the hardscaping and be a large gathering spaces for outside dinners.
