When designing their dream home, the Guastella Family knew the focal point of the space would need to be their kitchen, which not only had to be stunning enough to compete with the views of the lake in their backyard but also large enough to replace a formal dining room. An oversized island was designed in cherry wood with a slightly distressed finish, giving off a subtle contrast to the perimeter of the Irish cream cabinetry. The space, designed around entertaining, includes both a coffee and pull-out dry bar area in addition to functional items like drawer organizers, spice racks and utensils holders. The space was elevated to the next level by leathering the granite countertop making it feel like a truly unique element in the room.
