Abby's In-law Redo

This custom kitchenette was built with Ikea cabinets and butcher-block counters. Glass tiles were used on the back splash. Note the nook (behind) for bath storage and how the rail cap extends into the window sill. New vinyl windows installed here and in the bathroom.

This shows the step into the bathroom after lowering the floor about 10 inches and notching the footing to create the access/doorway. This tile worked well to slope toward the floor drain and it has a traditional look.

The finished bathroom is both functional and attractive. The design and materials used to bring this remodel up to date (hint toward Victorian style) are fitting for the 100 year old house.

To gain interior access into the bathroom, a portion of the footing was removed. To gain ceiling height, we lowered the bathroom floor and installed a floor drain, creating a wet-room. All new can lights are LED remodel fixtures w/bulbs & trim. The photos were taken with my phone.
