Alcove Resolutions
I am often asked by clients if my handmade ceramic wall art will work in their home. One of the most often used architectural details is the 4-6" deep wall niche. Though these alcoves are beautiful accents that break up large walls, I hear regularly that they are one of the hardest spaces to decorate.
Two-dimenstional paintings often get lost in the space, and shelves tend to be hard to hang or encourage collecting too many small items.
I have personally sold over a dozen Ceramic Wall Art Sculptures just for these Architectural Wall Niches or Residential Alcoves.
Though I often sell my work 'off the wall', more often I create an art piece just for the client, especially when they are working with an alcove. This Project shows the design, creation and installation of a Waterfall Wall Sculpture for a client in Sarasota, FL. Maryann & Richard commissioned me to create a Waterfall Simulated ceramic art piece for an alcove at the entry to their home. We used tumbled river stone and crushed glass in the center of the piece. It was a great project to work on! Here are the details.
