A patron of the Arts resettled to DC. To keep the focal point on his Art, we chose to make his walls "disappear". We mirrored the entire length of the open dining/living room area, and it disappeared. The facing wall, and entry were painted in one warm terra cotta, a monochrome background that allowed his paintings and sculptures to pop forward from one warm muted color. Choosing not to go with the "white art gallery" look was bold, paying off in a visually expanded space. The warm deep color recedes, and his gallery/home feels bigger and warmer!
