This photo shows a close up of the detail in this antique concrete urn-style vase.

A closer look at the top of this vase illustrates the need for a custom insert piece to support the upcoming glass top. Notice how the handles curve up above the top surface of the vase opening. These handles were not sufficient enough to support the weight of a glass top.

The finished coffee table is now the focal point of this room!

A closer look shows the newly fabricated insert piece, now an integral part of the existing vase. This insert piece added height to the opening at the top of the vase, enabling us to install a glass top without risking breakage of the fragile, spiral arms.
