apartment in Tel Aviv

This is an extension and renovation of an apartment in Tel Aviv.

The main feature of the architecture and interior design are the large french windows, reaching all the way to the floor. Since the apartment is on the second floor, one seems to be living on the treetops...

The home furnishings are a mixture of contemporary and antique, and there are beautiful mosaic pieces, made by the homeowner, which add color and character.

The interior design of both kitchen and bathrooms is also very personal and warm, with country-style furniture and colorful wall tiles.

The dining room furniture is antique - and blends in very well with the modern space and the timeless living room furniture. Here you can see the french windows again. One has a feeling of living on the treetops!

My client's hobby is creating beautiful mosaic pieces out of broken ceramic. Many of these pieces decorate this home, adding warmth, color, and lots of personal character, which i love in any home I design.

On the dining room wall is another mosaic creation - a large mirror, framed in mosaic. The mirror reflects the light of the antique chandelier. We used a warm plank floor in most of the house (except for the kitchen and bathroom).

The kitchen cabinets are off white, with an olive-green cabinet above the sink. The colorful wall tiles contrast nicely with the gray floor tiles.

There are two large rooms for the teenage children in the attic. I love it when attic rooms really give a feeling of living under the roof, which is why I always leave the roof beams exposed.
