Butterfly shed roofs open interior spaces to views and volumes. Broken and interrupted wall plans create interest and keep spaces warm and inviting. Concrete columns with wood trellis support a growing wisteria that shades the western entry to the home during the warm summers. Streamline board and batten siding support the modern forms while adding texture.

Beautiful views to the east are captured within the home by the slope of the shed roof. Standing seam metal roofing in weathered copper adds to the contemporary appeal of the shed roofs. Board and batten siding continue the linear texture of the roof to the walls.

An effective design tool is the feature wall that in this case blocks views from the dining room to the street while directing light from window on the outside wall down the interior stairwell. The accent color make the form stand apart, as well.
