Ewert Leaf were commissioned to design an open plan addition to an existing heritage Victorian residence in Armadale. The crux of the design was to demolish the closed in rear rooms, and create a new open plan living/kitchen/dining area within the existing rooflines, extending out 3.4m high windows and sliding doors with electric blinds onto a new timber deck entertaining area by the pool.
In addition to that, a large double garage backed onto a studio room sectioned off by a full height door sliding behind a new bluestone tiled fireplace. The large block and contemporary addition created a fantastic rear garden/entertaining area that is the hub of house, and in turn the family.
