We were asked to design this free standing artist's studio to join a compound of farm-like buildings at this wooded residential site. We made a simple gabled structure with an aluca-bond metal roof and elaborate red cedar facades. the interior ceiling is vaulted with skylights and lighting tucked into hidden gaps. This project won an Alice Washburn prize for traditional architecture from AIA Connecticut and Connecticut Magazine.
