Autumn Charm

One of my latest projects was a new home in a quaint bedroom community. The house had good bones and spacious rooms but just needed some added character and charm for my clients to feel at home. We added some rustic elements and a warm colour scheme to create this dynamic and comfortable residence.

The entrance to this new home has a wide foyer so we were able to include a rustic console table and colourful wool runner. The mirror, Art Deco lamp and accessories add interest to this open area.

This lovely Art Deco lamp was my client's but it worked perfectly on the Console Table in the Entry of this new home.

The Family Room of this new home has heaps of charm and is very cozy due to the warm colour scheme and rustic stone that we applied to the fireplace.

Shelves on either side of the Stone Fireplace allow for a great display of accessories and collectibles.

A caramel coloured sofa filled with lots of cushions in various patterns and textures is a cozy spot to relax. The patterned chenille drapes and Roman Blinds also add layers of warmth to the room.

At one side of the Family Room we placed two updated Wing Chairs in a brown and rust tweed fabric and accented them with Orange Cushions and a throw.

The shelves beside the Fireplace are a great place to display some accessories. We used pieces that would look great against the Terra Cotta wall colour behind the shelves.

The shelves on the other side of the Fireplace are filled with items that have rustic charm and a well-traveled feel.

Looking into the Great Room from the Entry affords a view of this great chair and the drapes that frame the tall windows.

This shot shows the Kitchen and Dining Area from the Family Room side of the space. This view displays the great coffered ceiling over the Dining Table and the Pendants over the large island in the Kitchen.

The large island in the kitchen acts as a separation from the Dining Area. I like the contrast of the white kitchen against the darker dining furniture.

Rustic Pendant Lights hung over the large island add an old world feel to this contemporary white kitchen.

We used a faux silk grasscloth wallpaper on two accent walls in the Powder Room. We carried the warm colours from the main living areas

We added classic Wall Sconces on either side of the mirror to provide a European touch to the contemporary Powder Room.

We created a glamorous home office for the lady of the house. The wallpaper on the accent wall has layers of textured mauve and purple and carried these tones through the rest of the space.

A thick, striped rug was added to the Home Office in shades of mauve and purple which accents the other purples in the room.

This cute front porch has just enough space for a couple of swivel patio chairs and a small table. The cushions and candle add a nice pop of colour.
