Award Nominated Bothell Kitchen Remodel

From drab to fabulous. This spectacular kitchen with pops of blue, has re-invigorated our client’s lifestyle and created a bright and cheery living, eating, and entertaining hub. The family of four now spreads out on their new 13-foot quartz topped island countertop with custom painted cabinetry in Regatta blue, instead of using a traditional table and chair set.
When we first met with these homeowners, they believed in their kitchen’s potential but needed help channeling their energy into a winning design. Their family had outgrown the small island which had insufficient workspace, mostly taken up by a cooktop.Their walk-in pantry was overflowing, and more space was needed for lunch bags, canned items & snacks, family electronics, and dog supplies.
They envisioned a kitchen that would be the heart of their home - for entertaining, daily homework, and meals. Other objectives included opening the kitchen to the adjacent dining room and family room spaces. This de-compartmentalized kitchen would allow the family to oversee their children while cooking and baking simultaneously.
The updated design was accomplished by opening enclosed walls and taking advantage of their home’s generous square footage. The existing butler's pantry was relocated, and the walk-in pantry entrance moved into the hallway. This created room for a larger refrigerator and double wall ovens. Along the opposite wall the corner kitchen sink and large window seat were removed and replaced with a new window layout, sink location and more cabinetry with counterspace.
To maximize the kitchen’s function, several creative cabinet solutions were installed, such as: a tall pullout pantry, a spice pullout, extra-wide pot drawers, a prep-sink, and a large trash pullout designed to hold dog food.
The new 48-inch wide cooktop is now a focal point in the kitchen. It is surrounded by a white and blue arabesque-tiled backsplash. The new semi-opaque windows that frame in the range let light in while hiding the view of their neighbor’s yard.
Where the butler’s pantry was removed now stands a full-service beverage center. This features a tall beverage cooler, and a high-capacity undercabinet receptacle strip allows for all the beverage machines to be used at once each morning. This area is topped off with glass-faced cabinets to display her tea set collections.
The kitchen has a natural glow to it with the new lighting and additional windows. Perfect for a coffee and paper on Sunday morning.
