Basement Overhaul

This outdated basement got a much needed overhaul. The space was separated into small, redundant rooms that were too dark and removed from the rest of the house for the family to enjoy using. We added: a full bar and kitchen, new bathroom with all new fixtures, updated and more efficient lighting, new flooring throughout and all new furniture.

Staircase to main level before. Carpeted stairs were replaced with hardwood treads and a more attractive and more durable runner. Wood pickets were replaced with iron and some of the wall was removed to make these stairs feel more open to the main basement space.

Bright and beautiful entry to new terrace level. Now the space feels like a continuation of the main level instead of like a dark, closed off basement.

When we decided to move the access to the unfinished basement area, it meant that the cats could no longer get to their litter box. We added a built in cat door so that we could still enlarge the existing bathroom, but without keeping the kitties from their litter box.

New vanity features bronze plumbing fixtures to make the basement feel slightly more contemporary, but still blend with the rest of the house. New vanity features quartz countertops and an undermount rectangular sink.
