Basement Reno

I wanted a continuous flow and feel from the upper levels to our basement… The home displays European white oak flooring throughout and a continuous French inspired wrought iron railing. Travertine stone graces numerous walls on this level. Easy to maintain, no carpet to vacuum or collect spills. Loads of light and a space for everyone and everything.
Our first project had to be the Basement.. With two boys ( one being an upcoming teenager) privacy was an issue. So we started with the bathroom and the rest was history. More pictures to follow.. We were very happy with the outcome.

The place we all get together to unwind after a day of renovating. The gas burning stone fireplace keeps us more than cosy on a cold winters night. Start the show.

Sunken by one step makes this area a little more special and unique. Our addition of the pool table is just what the family needed with a total of 4 boys to keep them connected.

Entrance to Spa Steam room. 18 x 18 tile flooring and walls. Stone and marble niche, modern floating vanity, double steam shower, bench for seating, two way access to bedroom, etched glass doors for privacy yet allowing natural light throughout

We did this bathroom for 1/4 of the cost it would have been if done professionally. This was our first attempt at laying tile ( honest ) and wow were we shocked at the outcome. If you just get the right tools and take your time you can do it too.

Aroma steam and double shower works the kinks out after a long day. Completely enclosed and sound proof. Since this shower was going to be highly used by our teenagers we decided to go with a low maintenance acrylic interior with moulded seat and storage compartments. I'm so glad we didn't choose...

With the left over stone we decided to add it to the niche to create warmth and interest. Its amazing what you can save by using up left over material. Made a huge difference to this niche.
