The waterfront-180 degree home, with westerly sunset views and over 324' of Narragansett Bay frontage, was built in 1930. The 4,004 square foot house was purchased in December 2012 and underwent a complete renovation. The overall design intent was to open up, modernize, and maximize the interior spaces into a sophisticated, functional, and durable home for use as a relaxing retreat with ample space for entertaining, while maintaining its’ ocean front characteristics. The interior design reflects the open and natural surroundings, utilizing minimal window treatments to provide privacy where desired and protect furnishings from the sun, yet not impede the magnificent ocean viewpoints found throughout the house. The interior paint colors, tile, stone, area rugs, and fabrics used on the upholstery are a mix of complimentary elegant neutrals accentuated with hints of color throughout. Dark walnut and mahogany furnishings, together with rich cherry flooring and cherry and gray cabinetry, as well as a mix of wood finishes of side tables and accent furniture serve as a dramatic contrast to the soothing neutral color pallet that flows all through the house. The furnishings, artwork and accessories incorporate many new pieces while combined with existing pieces, creating a perfect blend of grandeur, comfort, functionality, and style.
