Bead Board Ceiling
Previously covered by white vinyl siding, this custom/restored beadboard porch ceiling has become a focal point of this home. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the original beadboard was not salvageable, as a custom built framing system was required to create a level plane to properly anchor the new beadboard.
Fortunately, approximately 75% of the lumber framing system was constructed with reclaimed 2×4’s from previous jobs. The vinyl siding, once covering the original bead-board, was salvaged and utilized for a porch soffit on a subsequent project. What would have, traditionally, all been thrown out, is now creating beauty and providing function for others. Sustainability at work!
