Our brief was to transform a 100yr old poorly built and maintained flat and maximise space and storage and do any work necessary to bring it up to date to create a warm, simple comfortable rental property with clean lines and a splash of colour for airbnb and rentals.
OVERVIEW
The flat had a box room with no window and a big kitchen - we knocked down the wall of the bedroom and placed steel supports and blocked off a door way to create an open plan living space and created an ensuite garden facing double bedroom for our client. We created extensive storage space, a warm light open plan design that will work well as a rental and uses space much more efficiently.
IN DETAIL
We completely gutted the flat, levelled all the floors, demolished a wall and supported it with steels and redesigned the floor plan to better suit the clients needs. We insulated all the walls and floors, made good and plastered all the walls, completely new electric installation, points, spot lighting and fuse box, the joiner made kitchen units, bookshelves and a new cupboard for laundry. The plumber diverted the water to the new kitchen and installed all new pipework. We lay all the flooring and installed/ then tiled the new kitchen. We created new doors and architraves and changed the doors and lighting/fittings etc and fitted wardrobes.
