Between the Skyscrapers
This cozy rooftop is nestled in between much taller apartments in one of Chicago's more densely populated areas. We wanted to create a personal sense of space without making it feel too enclosed. After all this is city living! We used birch trees with up lights as accents/art pieces and extended a brick wall to give 100% privacy to once side. The pergola was built with Steel & Composite, and heaters were added to extend the Chicago rooftop season. Every day counts! There is a fire table and plenty of greenery, while still allowing for seating and a cozy destination to hang out. A custom stainless steel table and counter were fabricated to fit in the smaller than normal dining area, and the details on the planters make it pop enough, without taking too much attention away from the color in the containers.
