A budget friendly remodel took this dark, dysfunctional kitchen to a bright and beautiful space that works perfectly for the family. A large single bowl sink with and industrial sprayer replaced the builder grade faucet that was there previously. Using the existing cabinets with a fresh coat of paint saved the homeowner thousands while still making it feel like an entirely new kitchen. Using the base cabinets from the peninsula, a custom island was build with a butcher block counter top and is now the focal point of this space. The butcher block makes food prep a breeze! Open shelving was added where a large microwave opening had been. Stained to match the butcher block and other accents in the home makes it feel like it was always a part of the kitchen. Sensible subway tile and a neutral laminate counter top kept this project within budget while increasing it's selling potential.
