Bridlemile Mid-Century Entry

This project started with the desire for new hardwood flooring to replace carpet throughout the living room and dining room and vinyl in the kitchen. While discussing options the homeowner expressed frustration with an unfortunate 8' wide stairway and an open iron railing. We suggested a solid pony wall and a narrower 4' wide stairway. The changes transformed the entry into a more contained space that invites guest up while providing more privacy for the living room. In another project we removed some pocket doors during two bathroom remodels. With that openness in mind, the owner thought that the pocket doors between the living room and kitchen and living room and dining rooms should also go. With those removed the connected spaces feel more intentional and create a welcome flow.
