The challenge in using this compact kitchen was the lack of countertop space. The design was original to this 1950's ranch. It was ready for a total gut. By relocating the door to the garage 30 inches, we were able to move the refrigerator to the left of the sink. Eliminating the awkward peninsula added counter space by the stove and improved site lines to the window.
