Brightview West End, Rockville MD
Art at Large, Inc. worked with The Shelter Group, Brightview Senior Living, Hord Coplan Macht, Annapolis ArtWalk, Aumen Asner, Inc., VisArts Rockville and more to develop a custom designed/fabricated public art feature for the facade of Brightview West End, opened 2017.
Senior designer and Art at Large principal Sally Wern Comport worked with stakeholders in a series of design charrettes to develop the concept of the "Tree of Life"– reflecting life-affirming positive imagery incorporating artworks from the Rockville community in a quilt-like fashion.
Symbols and works from 62 artists of all ages and skill sets were woven into the larger tree image, made up of 170 2ft. x 2ft. panels. Single panel designs were utilized as interior finishes in the interior dining space adjacent to the public art.
