This project for a single family home in the Rockridge area of Oakland was a designed around the compact site, and close proximity to a auto traffic on Broadway. The exterior roof / wall configuration as well as site position and landscape help protect the house from the street, while still allowing for an openness and connection to the outside. Connecting volumes give the space an large, open feel while the footprint remains compact.
