Brooklyn townhouse
This vibrant gut renovation is a Park Slope townhouse for a creative family of four. The bulk of the work took place on the ground floor which was completely closed off. We opened the space to allow natural light to flow from the front windows through to the back garden. An open kitchen and dining area was created as well as a cozy family room both of which open up to the garden.
A ground floor bathroom and hidden laundry/storage room was added which was one of the most exciting improvements for the family. Having owned the house for many years, it was important to them to preserve some of the original details of their home. The warm wooden staircase was refurbished rather than replaced. The furniture and lighting was achieved on a very limited budget with the goal of bringing a warm but modern aesthetic. The combination of color and materials is both inviting and bold.
